FUNCTIONS
Maintain data and post adjustments for
various fees: solid waste, fire assessment, fire
safety, sanitary sewer, trash citations, lot
clearing, highway improvement, demolition,
certificate of use, supplemental waste,
occupational license, accessory use,
boiler/elevator, storm water utility, special
assessment, code enforcement, lien search, and
liens sold/transferred to Miami-Dade County Tax
Collector’s Office.
Evaluate inspection results and supporting
documentation in order to determine and
calculate adjustments or corrections.
Research accounts and prepare adjustments for
any payment posting errors. Analyze cancelled
checks/money orders for proper allocation.
Open and delete accounts for various and/or
assessments listed above.
Prepare paperwork for refunds and over-payments
where required.
The Customer Service section of the City of
Miami Finance Department is responsible for the
billing and collection of revenues generated
from the application and enforcement of various
municipal fees.
This section is responsible for resolving
current and/or past due billings and issues
encountered by customers. This requires
responding to inquiries and complaints from
phone to calls, walk-in customers, or
correspondence received. Daily functions include
updating and maintaining the billing system
database, production of bills, creation of past
due/collection notices and composing responses
to various city officials.
We strive to ensure citizens’ compliance with
established laws, ordinances and regulations for
all City of Miami policies and procedures
related to those assessments and/or fees.

(Creole). Documentation may be requested in
order to research an issue. Individual concerns
may require interaction with other departments
within the City for a full resolution of the
inquiry or compliant.

address, type of fee, folio number (01-
prefix). If there are any unresolved issues or
additional questions, please contact the Senior
Customer Service Representative or Supervisor at

as soon as possible. Other related questions can
