The Support Services Section has a team of seven dedicated employees that are committed
to enhance the quality of life for our community by working diligently to research and
apply for new sources of funds from federal, state and local resources. We manage existing
grants and implement the capital improvements needed to restore, maintain and beautify our
parks.
In some cases once funding has been granted, our Special Projects Section is
responsible for the planning, design and construction administration of small scale Parks
Capital Projects (i.e. shelters, picnic tables, playground, vita courses, fencing ball
field renovations, sports courts improvements, etc).
We oversee and monitor the progress of the larger scale Park Projects (i.e. construction of
new recreation buildings, building renovations, new or upgrades to existing ports lighting or
security lighting, etc.) under the responsibility of the City of Miami Capital Improvement Department.
Additionally, the support services team provides support to the other divisions of the Department in
the area of legislation and contract development and execution.
