VISION 
|
Miami is committed to becoming a Bicycle Friendly City by 2012. The
advancement of bicycle routes and facilities will create a full array of
accommodations for cyclists allowing cycling to be an easy alternative to
automobile use or for recreational enjoyment of our city. Miami will be a safe
place to ride a bicycle creating a more livable and vibrant City for residents
and tourists.

City of Miami Given an Honorable Mention
In 2011 the City of Miami applied to be
considered a Bicycle Friendly Community by
the League of American Bicyclists.
In recognition of the work that has
been done and the trajectory that the
City is on to achieve this goal, the
City of Miami was given an Honorable Mention.
The City will reapply in 2012 and we are
confident that we will be given the title
as a Bicycle Friendly Community.

Commissioner Sarnoff and
Virginia Key Bicycle Club
Officially Open New Virginia
Key Bike Trail
Sunday, February 20, 2011 at
10am, a dream of bike
enthusiasts will come true
when Commissioner Marc
Sarnoff cuts the ceremonial
ribbon and officially opens
the new Virginia Key Bike
Trail, 4201 Rickenbacker
Causeway.
The trail is accessible
through the entrance to
Virginia Key (across from
the Miami Sea Aquarium),
follow trail signs that will
take them to the northern
end of Virginia Key.

Bicycle Master Plan
Update
The City of Miami Bicycle Master Plan has been completed.
The City Commission has
approved the Bicycle Master
Plan on October 8th, 2009.
