Mayor Tomas Regalado Awards First Prize to the Winner of the Paint Me Miami Art Contest |
| Local Artists were Inspired by the City’s Unique Surroundings

(Miami, FL May 10, 2011)—On Friday, May 13, 2011, during a reception at Mary Brickell Village, Mayor Tomas Regalado will announce and present the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize awards to the winners of the first Paint Me Miami art competition. Local artists were asked to submit up to three of their creations inspired by any magic spot that is truly Miami. The 1st prize winner will take home a $1,000 award.
Jurors finally met this week to make their selection of the15 finalists. Beside 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners, 12 other finalists will also be recognized and presented with an award. All 15 paintings will be exhibited during the event at Mary Brickell Village, 900 South Miami Avenue, this coming Friday, starting at 7:00pm, in front of Cavas Wine. “Miami has been recognized worldwide as a first class destination for the arts,” explained Mayor Regalado. “We encourage our local talent to participate in this annual competition and make Paint Me Miami one of the premiere art events in the city.” WHAT: 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of the Paint Me Miami Art Competition will receive an award presented by Mayor Tomas Regalado. 12 finalists will also be recognized WHEN: Friday, May 13, 2011 @ 7:00pm WHERE: Mary Brickell Village, 900 South Miami Avenue, in front of Cavas Wines |
