Mayor Tomas Regalado Announces the
1st Wynwood
Art Fair
First of its kind street fair
showcasing interactive, performance-based contemporary art will take
place in Miami, October 21-23, 2011

May 17, 2011)—City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado
joined by Constance Collins Margulies, Director, Wynwood Art Fair,
curators, exhibitors and artist
will hold a press
conference, Wednesday,
May 18, 2011, 9:00am, at the Margulies Art Warehouse, 591 NW 27
Street, to announce the upcoming Wynwood Art Fair, where Miami’s
art community will be coming together to launch a three day
groundbreaking, performance based, contemporary art fair of
unprecedented artistic dimension.
Fair goers of all ages will be invited to see, hear, touch,
taste, feel, think and above all, make art! Virtually
every major contemporary art venue and institution in Miami is found
among the list of participants: the Miami Art, Bass and Wolfsonian
Museums and other museums, the art; music and theater departments of
Barry University, Florida International (FIU) and University of
Miami; private collectors; Miami’s premier art galleries and artist
residencies like The Locust Projects and Bakehouse Art Complex. The
proceeds from the Fair will benefit Lotus House Women’s Shelter to
help provide meals, health care services, job readiness training,
counseling, social services, and arts and enrichment programming for
the over 100 women and children served daily at Lotus House.
The three
day Wynwood Art Fair extravaganza will run daily from, 10am – 6pm,
from October 21- 23.
