(Miami,
FL-May 23, 2011) –The City of Miami is proud to be a sponsor of the
Fifth Annual, National Take 25 Child Safety Campaign by the National
Center for the Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to encourage
families to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety
and abduction prevention. A
website for the campaign,
www.Take25.org,
lists 25 safety tips that can help save a child’s life.
The campaign is held throughout the month of May and
continues through National Missing Children’s Day on May 25.
The Take
25 Child Safety Campaign is designed to help parents and others
teach children to be alert to potential threats and to provide
simple preventive steps that children can take to stay safe.
Teaching children about safety works, and the City of Miami
as part of this national campaign will be making vital printed
information available to its residents through our NET offices, fire
stations, police stations, city parks, City Hall, and other city
buildings. These
printed materials are designed to provide information to make it
easy for parents, grandparents and others to teach their children
about safety and prevention. As such,
the Honorable Mayor Tomas P. Regalado recognizes May 25th,
2011, as National Missing Children’s
Day in the City of Miami and presents a
proclamation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited
Children for their work and initiative that empowers
children and helps keep them safe within our community.
