Back to Business” Small Business Procurement Industry Fair to CAMACOL,

June 10, 2011)—City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado and
Commission Chairman Wifredo “Willy” Gort will be welcoming the
upcoming conference “Getting Back to Business” Small Business
Procurement Industry Fair, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, starting 9:00am,
at CAMACOL (Latin Chamber of Commerce,) 1401 West Flagler Street.
The City of Miami, the U.S. General Services Administration
and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, hosts of this
event, are bringing small businesses and the Federal Government
together at this event.
“We want to
connect the small business owners in Miami with federal resources
and programs that provide them with important knowledge to establish
or run successful businesses,” said Mayor Regalado.
“One of the factors to Miami’s economic development relies on
our commitment to give support and assistance to the development of
the small business sector.”
Presidential appointees,
Michael Blake, Associate Director for Minority Business Outreach,
The White House, Shyam Reddy, Regional Administrator,
General Services
Administration (GSA), Region 4,
and Anton Gunn,
Regional Administrator,
Health and Human Services (HHS) Region 4 will be the
keynote speakers.
Those
attending the conference will hear the discussions by participating
federal agencies, General Services, Health and Human Services,
Center for Disease Control (CDC), Department of Transportation (DOT)
and Skanska (HHS prime contractor) on upcoming opportunities,
effective marketing strategies for their respective agencies and
contact information.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will present different
lending programs, how to become “contract ready” and the basics of
marketing to the Federal Government.
The
conference is FREE and open to all small and large businesses.
