Commissioner Francis Suarez, District 4, Holds a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Durham Terrace Drainage Improvements Project

 


(Miami, FL   July 11, 2011)—City of Miami Commissioner Francis Suarez, District 4, along with area neighbors and city administrators will hold a Groundbreaking Ceremony, Tuesday July 12, 2011, at 5:30pm, for the Capital Improvements Project entitled Durham Terrace Drainage Improvements Project.  The ceremony will take place at the intersection of NW 4th Terrace and NW 38th Court.

 

The project consists of furnishing of street and drainage improvements, regrading of swales in accordance with Public Works Bulletin No. 28, landscape beautification, trees, new ADA (American with Disabilities Act) compliant ramps and replacement of damaged sidewalks.  The project boundaries are from NW 7 Street and NW 3 Street between NW 38 Court and NW 43 Avenue.

 

“One of the essential components of our government is to maintain our city free from flooding,” commented Commissioner Suarez.  “That is one of my priorities as Commissioner.”

 

The total estimated cost for the project is $1, 781, 596 with funding provided by Street Bond Series 1 & 2 and Stormwater Utility Trust.  The anticipated time of completion is approximately 335 days.
