Looking Cool on the First Day of School

Mayor Tomas Regalado and RazzleDazzle Barber Shop Hold a Back to School Event for 40 Underprivileged Children

(Miami FL   August 12, 2011)—On Tuesday, August 16, 2011, City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado will join Elena Linares, owner of the RazzleDazzle Barbershop in Mary Brickell Village for free haircuts and a “Dazzling” back to school event prepared specially for 40 children from low income families in Miami.

From 9am – 1pm, scissors will be snipping away and making sure each and every one of the kids gets their hair cut just the way they want it.  Besides giving them the free haircuts, the children will be treated for lunch and refreshments courtesy of Balans Restaurant.  After lunch, Mayor Regalado will be present to help distribute 40 backpacks donated by Neat Stuff.  The Biscayne Kiwanis will give away t-shirts and Dr. Barry Burak and Affiliated Healthcare Centers, Inc. will contribute with face painting and balloons for the kids.  School supplies are courtesy of EDCO Awards & Specialties and “Goodie Bags” have been provided by Barry University.

“This year the outpouring of support by so many in the community has been overwhelming,” expressed Mayor Regalado.  “Parents today are facing many hardships; we want to help them get their children ready for the start of school.”
