Hold a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the

SW 19th Terrace Improvements Project



(Miami, FL   August 22, 2011)—Mayor Tomas Regalado and Commissioner Francis Suarez, District 4, along with municipal administrators and area neighbors will be holding a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the SW 19th Terrace Improvements Project,  Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 1:30pm, at the southwest corner of the intersection at SW 19th Terrace and SW 24th Street.

 

The Capital Improvements project consists of milling and resurfacing and replacement of ADA ramps along SW 19th Terrace from SW 22nd Avenue to SW 27th Avenue.  Additionally SW 19th Terrace between SW 23rd Avenue to SW 24th Avenue will be reconstructed to include drainage improvements and curb and gutter replacements.

 

“This is a long awaited project which will benefit 19th Terrace greatly,” commented Commissioner Suarez.  “Flooding is a major concern in District 4 and I have made flooding remediation projects one of my priorities.”

 

The estimated cost of construction is $179,040 with funding provided by Street Bonds and Community Development Block Grant funds.  The project began on Monday, August 15, 2011 and it is anticipated to be completed in approximately 90 days, weather permitting.
