Commissioner Sarnoff Gives Thanks to the Community

Hundreds of families in need received assistance this holiday

(Miami, FL    November 23, 2011)– In a gesture of thanks and acknowledgement of the need in our community, Miami Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff is proud to have helped distribute food to several hundred families throughout District 2 this week.

More than 300 turkeys were distributed to needy families in Village West, in Coconut Grove, as well as the Upper Eastside and Wynwood. Many of the families also received bags of donated “fixings” to make their Thanksgiving Day meals complete. The food was distributed to churches, local food banks and directly to families through the Neighborhood Enhancement Team (N.E.T.) offices in District 2.

Nov2011-038“Thanksgiving is a day for our community to celebrate and come together to help one another,” said Commissioner Sarnoff. “For me personally, this is a very special Thanksgiving having been given another opportunity to serve the people of District 2 for another four years.”

Commissioner Sarnoff would also like to thank Max Milam and Milam’s Supermarket for their generous donation of turkeys this year.
