
Miami, FL (October 8, 2010 ) —City of Miami Commissioner Francis Suarez will be hosting the “Tools for Living Green and Saving Green” Seminar for residents.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 9th 2010, on the campus of Miami-Dade College’s InterAmerican campus located at 627 SW 27th Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
This event is geared towards educating the residents of the City of Miami on sustainability, energy, and water efficiency. A panel of environmental experts will focus on how
saving energy can save money, and how to improve energy and water efficiency in indoor and outdoor areas.
All attendees will receive a free recyclable tote bag filled with compact fluorescent light bulbs, foam tape, and educational reading material-- all courtesy of the Home Depot store in Coconut Grove and the City of Miami’s Office of Sustainable Initiatives.
There will also be a showerhead exchange program where residents may bring in their existing showerheads and exchange them for water efficient and cost effective showerheads at no cost.
Other event sponsors include Building Conscience, Florida Yards and Neighbors, University of Florida IFSA Extension, and the Miami-Dade College InterAmerican campus.
