Regular Trash, Garbage and Recycling Pick Up on Friday, December 31st, 2010 for City of Miami Residents

Miami, FL (December 27, 2010 ) The City of Miami Department of Solid Waste will be conducting regularly-scheduled trash, garbage and recycling pick-up on Friday, December 31st, 2010. Those residents whose garbage, trash and recycling are always collected on Fridays should place their items out as they usually do. Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to call 311.

Reminder: The city‘s Mini Dump is no longer operational.

Solid Waste Department is encouraging its residents to place their undecorated Christmas trees separate from their regular trash on their regularly scheduled trash pickup day. The Solid Waste Department will pick up the trees and convert it into mulch, which will be recycled and available for city residents. Trees will be picked up during the regularly scheduled trash pickup day from December 28 to January 31, 2011.

Residents are reminded to:

• Separate Christmas trees from other trash and bulky items to expedite the trash pickup effort.

• Please do not park in front of the garbage container or place any garbage bags or other items around it.

• Recycled items should be placed in the recyclable container in a visible and accessible location.
